Introduction
In amusement parks, you have seen or might have enjoyed the roller coaster rides, which move with an incredible speed—but ever wondered how it is achieved or how it is possible? So, in this science project tutorial, we will know how to make a Gauss Magnetic Accelerator. We assure you that you’ll surely enjoy this experiment. So, let us begin to make a gauss magnetic accelerator.
Supplies
But before moving on towards the steps to make a Gauss Magnetic Accelerator, let us look at its requirements. The list is as follows:
Materials
- Wooden Ruler
- Few small strong magnets
- Few steel balls
Tools
- Tape
- Knife
- Safety goggles
Steps To Make A Gauss Magnetic Accelerator
Step 1: The first step is to keep the wooden ruler on a flat surface.

Step 2: On the 2.5 cm mark, place one magnet in the rule groove and use tape to secure the magnet. Cut the remaining tape with the help of a scissor.

Step 3: Now, repeat the previous steps for the remaining magnets. And, on the right side of the magnet, keep two steel balls in the groove.

Step 4: Keep the target towards the right end of the ruler.

Step 5: Now, keep the last ball in the groove on the left side of the ruler.

Recommendation
- We recommend you perform this experiment on a table.
Things To Remember
- All the magnets placed on the scale or ruler should be 2.5 cm apart.
- Secondly, make sure that you securely apply the tape.
- Also, remember to wear all the safety gear before starting the experiment.
