Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to make a kidney working model for a science exhibition at your home. Kidneys are vital organs in human beings. It is a bean-shaped organ located below the rib cage.
The kidneys are a part of the urinary system, and each kidney removes waste and extra fluid from the body by filtering the blood. Nephrons are an essential part of each kidney.
Supplies
To make the kidney working model, we need;
Material
- Cardboard
- Hot glue gun
- Pencil
- Straw pipes
- Color papers
- Scissor
- Glue
- Plastic bottle
- Box cutter
- White paper
- Pen
Steps To Make Kidney Working Model
Step 1: First, cut these structures from the cardboard and paste colorful paper respectively:
- Kidney – Purple
- Ureter – Blue and Red
- Urethra – Yellow
Step 2: Put base cardboard and paste colorful paper and stick kidney and urethra in cardboard. Also, attach readily cut over the urethra to the bottom( As shown in the picture).
Step 3: Now, take cardboard to make a stand and stick it in the way as shown in the picture.
Step 4: Now, take a plastic bottle, cut it in half, and make two holes in its lid. Now pass the small pipe through the lid of the bottle.
Step 5: Now, make holes in cardboard above and below the kidney and both the sides of the urethra.
Step 6: Now paste the bottle with a cap above the cardboard.
Step 7: Now, pass the pipe from the lead to the kidneys above the hole to the behind and below the kidney holes and hand with the urethra. Do the same with another pipe as well. (Shown well in the picture)
Step 8: Paste both pipes behind the cardboard.
Step 9: Now, put the base of the bottle in the bottom and stabilize the model in the stand you make.
Now the model is ready to represent in the science exhibition.
Recommendation
Kidneys receive the blood for filtration from the arteries and its main function is to remove the waste products from the body. With this working model of the kidney, the students will know the functioning and working of the kidney and how it can be made at home by easily available material.
Things To Remember
- Work carefully and slowly during the cutover.
- To protect your work surface, use a self-healing mat.
- Carefully use a hot glue gun. It may burn your hands.
