Steps To Make A Stained Glass Guitar
Well, now that you have all the materials, start making your own stained glass guitar.
Step 1: The first step is to remove the strings and then carefully cut the face of the guitar. You can take your time with this.
Step 2: You can even make your own template. This will give you an idea of where to place the glass pieces.
Step 3: Cut and chop all of the glass pieces, then arrange them on top of the Guitar face in any order you like. And, yes, make certain that the glass is clean.
Step 4: Then, wrap the copper tape around the entire edge of each piece of glass.
Step 5: Now, Take a large piece of wood and place the guitar shape template on top. Then, taking each piece of glass, wrap the lead strips around it.
Step 6: The lead will provide some support to the face. Long pieces of brass tubing could also be soldered to the underside for support.
Step 7: You can improvise and use acrylic for the strings, drilling some holes for the strings and gluing a small piece along to act as a bridge. When the entire face has been completed, it is time to move on to the body.
Step 8: Cover the leading edge with lead to make attaching the face to the body easier. Install the LED lights along the body’s walls, then the guitar strings, and finally solder the top face to the body.
Step 9: And now your stained glass guitar is complete.
While making this DIY project, make sure of these things:
- Remove the strings carefully, or your guitar will be all ruined.
- Handle glass nicely, or you’ll end up hurting yourself.
- Handly wires carefully.
Now that you know how to make a stained glass guitar try making your own.
