Introduction
In school, you would have to do assignments, and science projects have always been the most fun. So you want to achieve the top scores in your class and be the smartest kid? It’s entirely up to you to decide what you want to do. This is an excellent tutorial for building a hydroelectric dam working model for a science project. For more information, keep reading.
Supplies
If you have all of the essential materials at home, building a working model of a hydroelectric dam is fairly straightforward. So, if you want to build a working model of a hydroelectric dam at home, you’ll need the following items:
Tools
- Drilling machine
- Glue
Materials
- Mini construction material
- Electric lamp
- Battery board
- Wooden pieces
- Circular sheets
- Plastic pieces
- Long screw
- Bolts
- Pulley and pulley belt
- Generator motor
- DC resistor
- Battery
- Wires
- Metal cylinder piece
Steps To Make A Hydroelectric Dam Working Model
Once you have the necessary supplies, let’s get going on building a hydroelectric dam working model.
Step 1: Take 2 circular plastic sheets. Draw 4 diametrical lines on one of them to divide it into 8 equal pieces. Also, point to the centers of the radius made.
Cut two circles
Step 2: Now, take some rectangular pieces of plastic and paste them at the midpoints as shown in the image. Take a few more pieces and paste them diagonally after the previous ones.
Attach the plastic pieces
Step 3: Take a metal hollow cylindrical piece and attach it to the center of the circle. Put the other circular sheet on top and secure it with glue.
Attach the circles
Step 4: Make a hole at the center of the circular sheets with the help of a drilling machine. Take a long metal screw and pass it through the circular piece prepared. Secure it with bolts on both sides.
Bolt the sides
Step 5: Now, take two long wooden pieces and make a hole at the end of both. Put a bolt in them. Attach the bolts to the long screw as shown in the image.
Attach the blocks and the plastic piece
Step 6: Take the whole piece and dig it in the mud to secure it. Make a wooden stand on its side.
Dig it in mud
Step 7: Put the generator motor, DC rectifier, and the mini battery board on the stand and attach them with wires.
Connect the wires
Step 8: Next, attach the pulley to the end of the long screw. Take the pulley belt and attach it to the motor.
Attach the pulley
Step 9: Now, decorate the piece with miniature electric lamps and attach the battery to the battery board.
Decorate with lamps
Step 10: Turn on the switch. Your Hydroelectric Dam Working Model is ready.

Recommendations
- Beware of electric equipment: Be cautious while using the drilling machine as it can cause serious injury if not handled carefully.
You’re now welcome to experiment on your own. It’s now up to you to come up with new ways to get good grades on your science assignments.
