## Introduction

In this science experiment, we will determine whether Saturn’s moons cause the gaps in Saturn’s rings.

## Basic Building Concept

1. Saturn is the sixth planet of the eight planets.

2. Saturn has eighty-three moons. Some are: Titan, Enceladus, and Mimas.

3. Saturn has rings that are made up of uncountable small particles that orbit around the sun. The names of all the rings are D ring, C ring, B ring, Cassini Division, A ring, F ring, G ring, and E ring.

## Aim

To determine whether Saturn’s moons cause the gaps in Saturn’s rings.

## Theory

Saturn has rings made up of uncountable small particles that orbit around the sun. The names of all the rings, starting from Saturn, are D ring, C ring, B ring, Cassini Division, A ring, F ring, G ring, and E ring.

## Procedure

We performed two experiments to perform this hypothesis.

Step 1: In this experiment, the moon is involved.

Step 2: In this experiment, the moon is not involved.

After experimenting 25 years for each trial, record the position of every particle.

## Observation

1. In this test, particles form a large gap around the moon.

2. Where we stopped recording, many of the particles were abandoned past the distance

1. Gaps are not large, but some are unexpectedly narrow.

2. None of the particles passed the distance.

## Result

1. The result showed that the gaps are formed near the rings where the moons are.

2. In this way, our hypothesis is correct. The Saturn moon does cause a gap in Saturn’s rings.

3. This experiment showed how the particles of Saturn’s rings react because of the gravitational pull of Saturn’s moon.

1. Perform the experiment with utmost care.

2. Carefully record the position of the particles.
